Addressing bullying with metaphysical mojo
Why did I write this book? On September 11, 2001, I was married and living in New Jersey. I was working at a place where you could see the towers burning from the parking garage's top deck. The multiple horrors of that day were compounded by my step-daughter asking the question of why did they do this? I didn't have an answer but I knew it wasn't because "they hate our freedom". With an unfocused desire to do good and a well-meaning kick in the pants from the Silva Method's VP, Hilde Silva Rubio and psychologist, Dr. George DeSau, I ventured forth.
If the Universe can be interpreted as a series of equations, I saw 9/11 as a negative value in the equation...or collective consciousness of humanity. I wanted to put a positive number into that equation. I also added the intention of a multiplier or a pay-it-forward effect. According to my college transcripts, I could write. So, I started writing.
I chose a universal theme - bullying. I borrowed from some historical literature to assist me with both form and function. What followed was a book in the tradition of literature that uses the Merlin / Young Arthur framework, where a mysterious grandfather and his troubled grandson work through a series of lessons...each leading to a greater truth. For me personally, it is a tale of my own act of revolution / evolution. One that my parent's had forbidden me to speak of to others.

Life is about the journey because
we all end up at the same destination.
Why do you think this book is worth reading? On a surface level, it addresses non-confrontational ways of diffusing a bully - an injured psyche who is externalizing their pain. But there are plenty of nuggets for later discovery. Others, who have read Dyer, Bach, Myss, Redfield, Gardner, and Jung will recognize the "Easter eggs" and enjoy them. This book introduces universal themes, some of which previously protected by Mystery Schools, to a chronologically younger audience.
It is my intention that people who are just getting onto the on ramp of the metaphysical interstate will find my book. My book's voice is deliberately light and the vocabulary easy to digest as I want it to serve as a signpost for as many people as possible. It is an early signpost on a path that you will be on for the rest of your life. Life is about the journey; we all end up at the same destination.
What juicy tidbits are inside? It is, in part, my personal tale of discovery as I spent nearly 30 years exploring astral projection, Reiki, meditation, neurolinguistic programming (NLP), in addition to several techniques taught by Silva Mind Method.
I have also listed several seminal works in the back of my book. So, if something in my book resonates with you, I gladly refer you to another work with greater information. Those who stand on the shoulders of giants can see the farthest.
Some audience members have done the math and asked me why did it take me 11 years? The short answer? Life. The opera buffa that is life distracted me from my task. These scenes included returning to college to become a nurse, a Near Death Experience (NDE) per my conversation with Dr. Raymond Moody, and extricating myself from a relationship whose end had come. But, as I now understand it, my NDE/ Spiritually Transformative Experience (STE) and release from my previous bonds were necessary to walk this path.
However, we each walk our own path. Your mileage may vary.
In the end, we are just children walking each other back home.
Over the course of a decade I practiced the art of writing defined as, "rewriting the rewrite you have previously rewritten". Still, it sat on my hard drive. Later, after physically, mentally and emotionally working through my mom's death, I gave myself permission to self-publish this book. Again, I was trying to insert a positive value into a cosmic formula; I published it on the anniversary of her transition.
